Frequently Asked Questions

How should I prepare for my first visit?

Try to avoid heavy meals for about an hour before your session. A calming cup of herbal tea is available before and after your session.

Where is Body Kind Studio located?

Body Kind Studio is at Mikołajska 11/13, Kraków Old Town — 3 minutes on foot from the Main Square (Rynek Główny). The studio is on the 4th floor — take the lift when you enter the building. Open Monday–Friday 11:00–22:00, Saturday–Sunday 12:00–22:00. Book online at bodykindstudio.booksy.com or via WhatsApp at +48 516 365 005.

How long does a session last?

Sessions range from 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on the treatment. The Tourist Recovery Pack runs 60 minutes, Thai Massage is available in 90 or 120 minutes, Kobido Face Massage and most TCM sessions run 90–120 minutes, and the Jivaka Ritual lasts 180 minutes. For a first Thai massage visit, 120 minutes is recommended.

Do I need to be flexible for Thai massage?

No. Thai massage is not yoga — you don't do anything yourself. The therapist moves and stretches you. People with very tight, inflexible bodies often benefit most, because they have the most restriction to release.

Is the Hands-Free (Ashiatsu) massage painful?

It is an intensive technique that reaches the deepest layers of the fascia, but the pressure is always strictly adjusted to your body's limits. Any discomfort you might feel is a 'good pain' that brings immediate relief to a stiff neck or a blocked lower back.

Do TCM therapies (Cupping, Gua Sha) leave marks?

Yes, therapies like copper cupping or Gua Sha can leave temporary marks (petechiae) on your skin. This is a natural, safe, and highly desired therapeutic effect, indicating the release of blood stagnation, tension, and toxins. The marks typically fade within a few days.

When will I see results from Kobido?

A lifting effect is usually visible immediately after the first session — the face looks more defined, lifted, and alive. A series of treatments (typically 4–6 sessions) deepens and prolongs the result significantly.

Do you speak English?

Yes. The studio welcomes international visitors, all communication is in English, and prices are shown in both PLN and EUR.

What is classical Chinese medicine, and how is it different from a spa massage?

Classical Chinese Medicine draws on ancient texts such as Huang Di Nei Jing and Shang Han Lun. It encompasses cupping, Gua Sha, moxibustion, and Tuina — applied to address specific conditions, not just for relaxation. At Body Kind, treatments are clinical and tailored to your body, not routine spa massages.

What TCM qualifications does Julia have in Kraków?

Julia Piekarska holds a TCM diploma from TOMO School (198 hours, Gdańsk 2024) and clinical acupuncture training with Dr Hamid Montakab (TOMO, 2025), with full acupuncture certification currently in progress. Her application for membership in the Classical Chinese Medicine Association (SKMC) is also in progress. She practices cupping, Gua Sha, moxibustion, and Tuina at Body Kind Studio, Mikołajska 11 — 3 minutes from Kraków Main Square.
